Perfect place for a relaxing weekend in The Midlands

My husband and I spent a very relaxing weekend at Gowan Valley Guest Farm. Deanne and Brett and the perfect hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The farm is in the perfect position to enjoy all the best sights on the midlands meander. We really loved the beautiful rooms! You can stay in one of the garden cottages or the gorgeous manor house. Each room is clean and beautifully decorated. There is so much attention to detail – even easter eggs left in our room as a treat. The breakfast is excellent and home made to order each morning while you sit out on the deck overlooking the river – just perfect! Overall cannot be faulted!

Fantastic Glamping Experience!

Let me state at the very outset that I am NOT a fan of camping but this experience is anything but and I loved every minute of it. The tents (and I use that term lightly) are fantastically equipped and aside from the zips on the “front doors” you honestly don’t even know you’re staying in a tent. Everything you need for a wonderful stay is provided – comfy big beds with great quality linen, electric blankets, aircon / heater, a very well equipped kitchen (down to veggie peeler and coffee plunger), a great living / dining space, outdoor deck with great built in braai and of course the famous wood fired hot tub. The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and friendly and I highly recommend ordering the breakfast basket which comes beautifully presented (and well stocked ) and gets delivered directly to your front door. Overall a fantastic experience which I highly recommend!

Perfection!

A son’s wedding and a weekend of sheer joy. Nothing was too much for the hosts, from the welcome to the farewell. It is a superb venue, where every need is met and where peace abounds. We could not be more grateful and we’ll be back.

Wow! From start to finish! Tents were amazing – decked out with everything one needs! The hot tub was a highlight as were the pre-ordered dinner and breakfast! We will definitely be back 👍🏻 Enjoyed the park run that was close by as well as a bit of a midlands meander but chose to spend most of our time relaxing at Gowan Valley.

An Excellent Stay!

The hosts were very welcoming during our stay here for a wedding down the road. It is a beautiful location. The breakfasts cater for all tastes and the rooms are beautiful. There is also a communal relaxing room in the guest house with a TV and honesty bar for those that want to keep up with the sport around the world. Would love to visit again.

Boutique glamping in every sense of the word glamping!

Magnificent location, such a unique experience in true “boutique” glamping style. We had hours of fun in the hot tub with the family. The comfiest beds and all the equipment and facilities you need are there. We will be back again and again…thank you!

Exceptional!

Beautifully decorated room and spacious bathroom with shower. The king bed was super comfortable with quality linen for a great night’s sleep. The gardens and grounds are stunning and the guest farm is perfectly located on the beautiful Midlands Meander. The hostess, Deanne, was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good, served in the breakfast room with an amazing view over the river. An unforgettable stay, highly recommended!

It truly is every bit of “boutique” glamping one could ask for. Magnificent surroundings. Fully equipped with everything you need. The hot tub was a highlight – spent 3 hours of family fun in it. We will be back again and again.

A delightful country retreat to restore your soul

We spent a night here recently and were blown away by the warm hospitality we were given from start to finish by our excellent and welcoming hosts. The setting is beautiful, especially with all the spring blossoms around. The gardens are stunning, the room was comfortable and delightfully furnished, and we enjoyed a delicious home-cooked breakfast in the dining room overlooking the stream. We enjoyed a lovely walk on the property and a quiet evening in front of a blazing log fire. We can highly recommend this as a place to relax and restore your soul.

Comfort in absolute tranquility and beauty

AfriCamps, Midlands was out of this world! Each morning began with excitement and adoration whilst watching the trains pass bye in the misty mountains.. As a family we enjoy quality time spent together. The Hot tubs are situated perfectly remaining exclusive and private. Lots of fun for the family as a whole.. but also relaxing and enjoyable for the adults whilst the kids slept. Another favourite was the walk through the forest onsite… the beauty within and well prepared path made it easy to navigate through the forest, the benches and bridges stationed along the way gave perfect photo opportunities. If you are looking to wind down from the stress of the city, I would highly recommend AfriCamps Glamping in the Midlands!! We will most surely return – perhaps even in the middle of winter 🙂
